Your Career in Aid Work

Advice for 1st time aid workers

August 30, 2006 - 7:13pm

This is a just a basic query about getting into the field.

I'm really keen to get into development work abroad but lack
any experience overseas. Specifically, I keen to work with refugees (I work with asylum seekers at home at present & have worked for charities at home in UK for 8 yrs, have also been doing a degree part time, hence the delay).

What does it take for a guy who want to get a career in NGO?

August 30, 2006 - 2:06am

Can someone please help me? I do not know what it takes to get a career with NGO. I’ve only finished university studies two years ago and have no problems in getting a job. Is it me because I do not have any field experienced? Or the competitions for places are fierce? Please help me if you have any advice.

Getting back into the aid-game

August 19, 2006 - 5:38pm

After taking another year out from work, this time to pursue an LLM in International Development Law & Human Rights, I am now ready to return to my career. Getting back into the game, however, is difficult. Once again, you have to go through the profiling, applying and interviewing scenario - a chore in whatever field you pursue.
