Medical Insurance

Hello everybody,

I think I'm about to be resident in no particular country and as such I forfeit my right to any type of social security... so I've been looking for medical insurance for when I come back from the field (as I will be covered by my organisation whilst deployed). The thing is I have three main requirements:

1) Full medical, dental and ophtalmological cover
2) Cover throughout Europe (not just Schengen) especially France and UK
3) Possibility of short contracts (i.e. from 15 days to 4 months i.e. the time it takes tyo get another job)

I have currently found zero suitable policies.

I'm not kidding myself, I'm not going to ask if you know any cheap possibilities because that will just reduce the already thin possibilities. Anyway I've been hunting for a while now and I'm about to bludgeon myself to death with my chair, so I'd really like to know if anyone has any help they can offer, or experience of being in this situation.

Help me Obi wan Kenobi, you're my only hope!

You are right to be hunting around - but there may be some products that suit you. I am using Bupa, but full major medical dental and opthamalogical coverage is expensive and hard to find - why don't you just consider major medical insurance and pay for doctor, dentist and opthamalogical out of your pocket - the premiums are a lot more reasonable. I do not have US coverage but do have medi-vac and mm coverage for the whole family

Just a thought.

Best regards,

Martin
